Monkey theme for The East Hong Kong

Masked monkeys and pop culture are merging with traditional Chinese customs as part of Chinese New Year celebrations in the Queen’s Rd lifestyle destination The East Hong Kong.
A Monkey Go Lucky theme has taken over the Open Piazza until February 26, with an Arch of Love and Forest of peach Blossoms.
Activities at The East include traditional Chinese New Year rituals and celebrations…

  • Red banner writing by Li Qingxu, senior calligrapher and member of the Hong Kong Society for the Study of Poetry, Calligraphy and Couplet.
  • A traditional lion dance performance led by Kwok Man Long and his team.
  • A flour doll performance showcasing Chinese folk art.
  • Tarot readings led by Ar Tim Tarot.

Special guests include singer-songwriters Yuki Lovey and Kevin Tsui.
There are also workshops, including a cooking workshop in collaboration with Green Monday to promote healthy eating, a mosaic hanging ornaments workshop, a mini-preserved flower pot workshop and a Puffy Heart crochet workshop.
The East Hong Kong is also giving away Chinese New Year gifts to visitors, including a limited edition Spring Collage Red Packet featuring laser-cut technology and hot stamp printing.
Restaurants at The East will feature special Chinese New Year and Valentine’s Day dishes.
The East Hong Kong comprises GardenEast, Hopewell Centre, QRE Plaza and Wu Chung House.
