Hong Kong’s on-demand delivery app Lalamove is partnering with mobile platform Line to expand its delivery services in Bangkok.

The Line Man app aims at offering reliable on-demand services to consumers, and is one of Line’s first ventures beyond just chatting.

Thailand is the first market for the service, which offers document and package delivery, food purchase and delivery, and convenient goods purchase and delivery. Delivery is provided by Lalamove, limited to within Bangkok but with plans for expansion. Line has more than 33 million users in Thailand.

At a global conference in March, Line revealed a five-year plan to create a smart portal to close the loop between businesses and app users.

Lalamove Thailand co-founder/MD Santit Jirawongkraisorn says partnering with Line is a natural progression. Line Man will offer courier services through the Lalamove fleet of motorcycles, with cash payments. Consumers will be able to order food via restaurant database app Wongnai.
