As well as Ong, founder of the SBTG sneaker label, the project has involved Mandeep Chopra, founder of Sneaker outlet Limited EDT. Reebok challenged the collaborators to create a design that pushes the Instapump Fury’s aesthetic and identity to new heights.

Chopra wanted to evoke the appearance of an animal firmly rooted in Singapore’s history, the lion, which camouflages itself while hunting in its natural habitat. The sneakers combine sandy tones with tactile materials such as Pellegrini pony hair, and feature SBTG’s signature Parsillia camouflage created by Ong who was inspired by the Romanian military uniform.

The panel under the tongue of the sneaker is left blank so SBTG can personalise the sneakers for customers. The Reebok Instapump logo is emblazoned in gold, standing out against the desert camouflage, while the SBTG embroidered logo and accents of scarlet and black provide added contrast.

After selling exclusively at Limited EDT, the Feline Fury will be rolled out globally on January 27. A special box-set version is available on Limited EDT’s website.
