L’Occitane International sales fall 10 per cent

Sales in Hong Kong and Macau for French skincare products retailer L’Occitane International fell by 10.2 per cent year-on-year for the nine months ending December 31.
Sales income from the two regions also dropped, coming in at about €93.7 million (US$100.8 million) compared to €104.4 million for the same period the previous year, according to a filing with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Sales in Mainland China amounted to €96.8 million, an increase of 2.1 per cent year-on-year, but sales from Taiwan went down by 2 per cent to €31.4 million.
Total sales of the company reached about €1 billion for the nine months, edging up 2.3 per cent from one year ago.
As at end of last year, the retailer had two stores in Macau – one less than a year previously – while it maintained 10 stores in Hong Kong.
