Google Shopping Ads roll out in Singapore

Brands have a faster way to reach shoppers in Singapore with the launch of Google Shopping Ads.

These show product images and information in search results alongside Google’s standard text advertisements.

Brands that are using the new service include Decathlon, Mums.sg, online marketplace Qoo10 and Zalora. It is in beta mode for Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and Taiwan, says Google. Users in Australia and Japan already see the advertisements on Google Shopping, Google Search and some Google Search partners, while users in India see them on Google Search and through some Google Search partners.

Like Singapore users, New Zealanders see the ads only on Google Search.

Google Singapore country director Joanna Flint says that 53 per cent of the Singaporean population uses the internet to compare products, prices or features. “We know this type of research can take time, so that’s why we wanted to help streamline the process for Singaporean shoppers by rolling out Google Shopping Ads.”
