Pizza Hut Japan changing hands

Japanese turnaround investment firm Phoenix Capital will acquire Pizza Hut Japan and Phoenix Foods from KFC Holdings Japan through its fund Endeavour United.

The financial details of the acquisition have not been disclosed.

Pizza Hut has been in Japan for more than 40 years, with 370 outlets currently including both equity and sub-franchisee stores.

“Endeavour United will work with its management team and employees to implement growth strategies and to improve the corporate value of Pizza Hut,” says the fund, which has invested in more than 40 companies.

KFC Holdings Japan has been controlled by Mitsubishi Corporation for many years.
The deal is expected to complete by June 12.
