Maxi-Cash launches online services

Maxi-Cash, Singapore’s first public-listed pawnbroker, has expanded into e-commerce by launching three online services: iPayment, eShop and Online Valuation.

For the first time in the pawn industry, customers can renew and pay interests online at any time from anywhere.

The Maxi-Cash iPayment service offers safety and convenience, with access via mobile phone or computer. There are seven steps for processing payments: registering an account at any Maxi-Cash store, receiving validation by email, logging in, selecting ticket and checkout, entering payment details, and previewing and validating the renewed e-ticket before printing it.

Maxi-Cash Group assistant brand director Magdalene Eng  says the eShop curates accessories vetted by watch, jewellery and leather specialists. It is retailing more than 500 items from the latest LeGold jewellery collections as well as used timepieces, luxury bags and fine jewellery from LuxeStyle.

Luxury goods at discounted prices exclusively online are also being offered.

“Digital technology is reshaping the pawn and pre-loved goods industry,” says group CEO Ng Leok Cheng. “Maxi-Cash eShop will allow us to connect with our customers online 24/7 while still offering them the option to visit one of our 43 physical stores if they prefer.”

For control and flexibility, the new online outlet offers three shopping options: viewing and buying online with delivery to doorstep; viewing and buying online with pick-up at store; and viewing online, buying offline.

Meanwhile, the Online Valuation service allows consumers to submit images of up to five items for appraisal. An automated email will be sent within three business days with an indicative value for each item.
