Airport Authority Hong Kong takes retail on line

As record numbers of passengers passed through Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) last month, Airport Authority Hong Kong launched an online shopping platform.

HKairport Shop allows passengers to shop online and collect their purchases from any of the three concierge stations at HKIA. They can opt to have their purchases delivered to a Hong Kong address.

“Passengers can even place their orders while on their way to the airport,” says the authority’s commercial executive director Cissy Chan. “The platform offers a range of packaged food items and airport exclusives, and a wider variety will be available in the coming months.”

Meanwhile, higher revenues from HKIA retail concessions have helped deliver a solid financial performance for the authority.
