Robinsons Malaysia plans new KL store

Singapore-based retailer Robinsons is marking its 10th anniversary in Malaysia by opening a new flagship store.

Located at Four Seasons Place in Kuala Lumpur, the Robinsons Malaysia store is scheduled to open by the middle of next year.

Christophe Cann, CEO of Robinsons’ parent, Dubai-based Al-Futtaim Asia, says the store’s location “right in the city centre” will attract both locals and tourists.

With a floor space of 18,581sqm, the store will be almost twice the size of the company’s The Gardens outlet and offer a broader range of brands and goods, with a special focus on younger shoppers.

“Robinsons The Gardens boasts over 600 local, regional and international brands of which 76 are exclusive. There will definitely be more than that in the new store,” Cann told The Star newspaper.

“We are bringing in new brands for the women, men and children’s departments, specially for the Malaysian market.” Some of those brands will be new to Malaysia.

Cann also said Robinsons is planning to expand its Singaporean online shopping site to Malaysia.
