Gong Cha Singapore bubbles up again

After a six-month break from the market, the Gong Cha Singapore bubble-tea chain has returned with the opening today of its flagship store at the revamped SingPost Centre.

Its opening was announced on the brand’s Facebook page.

From Taiwan, Gong Cha was replaced by homegrown brand Liho, run by entrepreneur Rodney Tang. He was the former franchise owner of Gong Cha in Singapore before closing its 84 outlets and replacing them with his own brand.

However, Gong Cha parent company Unison Capital announced in June it would be returning to Singapore under the leadership of the former MD of soya bean chain Mr Bean.

On the ground floor of SingPost Centre, beside Paya Lebar MRT Station, Gong Cha Singapore is expected to introduce new flavours including Sweet Potato Milk Tea, Matcha with Red Bean and Brown Sugar Oolong.
