Austrian bakery Guschlbauer makes Southeast Asian debut

Austrian bakery Guschlbauer will open its first store for Southeast Asia next week, at Waterway Point in Punggol.

Known for its buns, Guschlbauer will be the first Austrian bakery in Singapore with a storefront.

With nearly a century of experience, the bakery has three other franchises – in Toronto, Seoul and Hong Kong, which has the highest sales turnover for the three territories.

Singapore will offer the bakery’s signature product, the Quarter Cheese Bun.

Another cheesy offering has also landed at Waterway Point, the sixth Singapore outlet for Thailand’s SayChiizu, known for its Hokkaido cheese toast.

And from Malaysia, restaurant Nam Kee Pau has also opened at Waterway Point. It specialises in traditional pau and also offers Mee Hoon Kuay or Ke Kou Mian as well as glutinous rice chicken and Siew Mai.
