Shopee teams with SIRS to offer full-day workshops

E-commerce platform Shopee has partnered with Nanyang Polytechnic’s Singapore Institute of Retail Studies (SIRS) to offer full-day workshops.

A platform catering to the Taiwanese and Southeast Asian markets, Shopee is running the courses to support SMEs, start-ups, and individuals in growing their own businesses. Fees are being subsidised by government agency SkillsFuture Singapore for Singaporeans and Permanent Residents, while Singaporeans over 25 may use their SkillsFuture Credit to offset course fees.

The courses are a part of Shopee’s seller support initiative, launched in 2015 across the seven markets it operates in.

Shopee’s CCO Junjie Zhou said “Keeping up with the fast-changing e-commerce landscape is no easy feat. At Shopee, we are committed to supporting our sellers and aspiring entrepreneurs by equipping them with the necessary skills and resources to succeed. This partnership with SIRS has provided us with a platform to expand our reach and empower more SMEs to take their businesses to the next level.”

The courses will deliver instructional content on the e-commerce ecosystem, content creation, revenue, logistics and sales management.
