Citygate Outlets mall extension to open next month

The Citygate Outlets mall extension is set to open next month, promising a whole new level of shopping and dining experiences with almost double the amount of retail space.

More than 10 luxury and lifestyle brands are set to open their first Hong Kong outlet store at the premium outlet shopping complex, located at Lantau, near Hong Kong International Airport.

Once the new section is trading, Citygate Outlets will comprise 800,000sqft and feature more than 150 international brands and 30 food-and-beverage outlets. Fifty brands are new to the complex including fashion labels Versace, Ermenegildo Zegna, BA&SH, Gap and Superdry.

Brands who will open their first Hong Kong outlet store in the new wing include Breitling, Claudie Pierlot, Hour Passion (a multi-brand watch and jewellery retail concept store by Swatch Group), Jack Wills, Maje, Pinko, Reiss, Ted Baker and Theory.

The mall will also become home to CDF Beauty, Hong Kong’s first multi-brand travel-retail store operated by China Duty Free Group.

Chris Heywood, Citygate’s GM, said the new extension will solidify the mall’s position as the city’s leading premium outlet shopping complex.

“With our expansion, and our location as a gateway to popular attractions on Lantau and in the Greater Bay Area, we’re confident that Citygate Outlets will continue to be a must-visit shopping, dining and entertainment destination.”

Citygate Outlets has also increased its event spaces to include a larger atrium for seasonal decorations and festive performances, along with an outdoor area for weekend markets and exhibitions. Heywood says the centre wants to showcase both local and international talent, as well as homegrown produce and goods.

Another new feature is a dedicated customer-care centre spanning more than 1600sqft, and including a travel-information corner where visitors can find out more about the attractions in the Lantau area, an interactive kids zone and massage chairs.
