British streetwear label Palace opens Shanghai pop-up

British skate and streetwear label Palace is building brand awareness in China with a pop-up shop opening inside the Arkham nightclub in Shanghai.

The pop-up, said to be the first of its kind in the country, will run on November 9 to 11 and will carry the brand’s exclusive designs, along with the special-edition Juventus Palace Champions League kit, pictured above, which is produced in collaboration with Adidas and Juventus.

When the pop-up is over, the brand will continue its China presence via an online store at Tmall marketplace.

Ini an interview with Hypebeast, Palace founder Levent Tanju described the brand’s move into China as “a natural evolution”. “We want to venture out, try new things, do stuff that other people aren’t doing. Do stuff in new places where people like our clothes rather than just a cool location or place to do something,” he said.

The brand’s Asian presence also includes a retail store in Tokyo, which opened last year. Known for its triangle logo Palace was founded by Tanju and his skate team in 2009.
