Shinsegae and Taubman Asia open Starfield Anseong

Shinsegae group and Taubman Asia have opened the new shopping mall Starfield Anseong in South Korea’s Gyeonggi Province.

Occupying a 240,000sqm area, the Starfield Anseong is the largest shopping complex in the region. Located in Southern Gyeonggi-do, the mall is a one-hour drive from Seoul and features a parking lot enough for 5000 vehicles.

Starfield Anseong houses 280 retailers, including E-Mart, Toy Kingdom and Shinsegae Factory Store. According to the company, the shopping complex is almost fully leased, with more than 90 per cent of tenants open.

“Starfield Anseong will serve customers in the southern region of Gyeonggi and will meet the high expectations of the local residents following the successful opening of Starfield Hanam and Starfield Goyang,” said Young-rok Lim, president at Shinsegae Property.

“With a high priority on customer safety, we are certain our customers will experience a true shopping theme park previously unseen anywhere in the region.”

Starfield Anseong houses a variety of major international brands, including Zara, Nike, Uniqlo, Polo Ralph Lauren and BMW. The mall is where approximately 100 brands open its first store in this region.

An 113,000sqft area is dedicated to dining, featuring Gourmet Street’s eight restaurants and the Eatopia food, and City Market anchored by No Brand Supermarket. Other restaurant options include Sanghaeru, Tokkijung, Lobster Bar and No Brand Burger.

“Starfield Anseong represents the best of the collective expertise of Shinsegae Property and Taubman Asia,” said Paul Wright, president at Taubman Asia.
