7-Eleven Malaysia has appointed Wong Wai Keong and Tan U-Ming as its new co-CEOs.
They will jointly succeed Colin George Harvey, who will resign his role as executive director and CEO due to health conditions. Harvey will however continue to be involved in the company in an advisory and consulting role.
The appointment will take effect from December 1. Besides co-CEO position, Wong Kai Keong has also taken up a role as executive director.
“Their combined 15 years of experience with the company will provide the strength and stability needed to weather through the uncertain economic conditions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic,” said Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Abdul Hamid Embong, chairman of 7-Eleven Malaysia.
Wong Wai Keong joined 7-Eleven Malaysia in 2018 as chief financial officer. Prior to 7-Eleven, he held the group finance director role at SyAqua Group.
Tan U-Ming was appointed as director of 7-Eleven Malaysia in 2008 before being appointed an executive director three years later. He currently holds directorships in other private companies of various industries.
