Heritage brand Sennet Freres makes Hong Kong return

The 150-year-old heritage brand Sennet Freres has made its comeback to Hong Kong as a new bridal brand after more than 70 years.

Sennet Freres’ first bridal concept store is located at 22 Russell St, Causeway Bay, featuring ready-to-wear wedding gowns and wedding-gown design services. The rebuild of Sennet Freres started in 2019 with support from The Emperor Group and Dr Albert Yeung.

The Sennet Freres Hong Kong store spans four stories and 9000sqft. The first three floors are dedicated to the brand’s debut range, Sennet Freres 2021 S/S collection. The top floor is an exhibition featuring the heritage story and relics from the brand. The Hong Kong store will also host various wedding seminars and interactive sessions for all brides and grooms-to-be.

“The spirits of the 150-year-old watch brand and jewellery brand have become the backbone and the beliefs in creating the new delicate bridal and evening gown collection, showing persistence and pursuit of luxury and aesthetics between each stitch,” the company said in a statement.

Founded in 1890 as a watch brand, Sennet Freres was brought to Hong Kong by Albert Weill. Under his wife management, Rosie Weill, the watch business was grouped with jewellery brand Levy Hermanos, and developed rapidly before the Second World War.

The revitalisation of Sennet Freres began in late 2019, with a new business vision and mission in bridal gowns and jewellery.
