New Daiso retail format opening in Tokyo tomorrow

Japanese lifestyle chain Daiso is launching a new retail format outlet featuring minimalist homeware in Tokyo.

Called ‘Standard Product’, the concept store will offer a range of tableware, bags, storage boxes, and other daily items made from environmentally friendly materials at an affordable price.

The store will house about 1,300 products with prices ranging from US$2.75 – $9.18.

“We aim to be a brand where people can enjoy their own personality, rather than claiming the individuality of the product,” the company said in a statement.

“We will strive to improve usability and quality in order to continue to be the standard.”

Standard Products tableware range features minimalist design with four colour options, “eliminating the barrier between Japanese and Western tableware”.

“We have a lineup of functional and easy-to-use tableware that is not affected by situations or types of dishes,” the business said.

The Standard Product store will open its door to the public on Friday, March 26, at Shibuya Mark City.

The launch also coincides with the opening of a Shibuya’s largest Daiso store on the same floor.
