Singapore-based marketplace Carousell has appointed Kevin Huang as the MD at its Hong Kong unit.
The former CEO of Birdie will take over the role from William Ip, who left Carousell this March after two years serving the company, and report to the chief operations officer Bryan Teo. In his new role, Huang will be responsible for the overall business strategy of Carousell Hong Kong, manage daily operations, marketing, branding and community engagement.
“I am passionate about helping small businesses in Hong Kong, and Carousell is a platform where anyone can find selling success,” said Huang.
Under Huang’s management, Carousell aims to grow Hong Kong as a key market, expand its home services category – which saw its number of active users last year increase by two-fold year-on-year, according to the company.
