Japanese apparel retailer Uniqlo is set to make its first physical presence in Poland with a pop-up store in the country’s capital city, Warsaw.

Uniqlo’s first physical store in Poland will open at Domy Towarowe Wars Sawa Junior shopping centre. The sales area will span approximately 800sqm across two floors, according to the company’s statement. The products will range from womenswear, and menswear, to kid’s and baby’s apparel.

“Wars Sawa Junior is the perfect place to start a presence in the Polish market for the most popular international brands,” said Scott Dwyer, Group MD, Retail at Atrium European Real Estate, the owner of Wars Sawa Junior. “The location is right in the bustling city centre, close to the city’s busiest commuting hubs, business districts and most popular tourist attractions.”

The fashion company has been selling its products in the market for more than six years through Uniqlo Europe’s online store.

“The decision to establish a physical presence in this new market builds on our experience of offering customers the latest products via the Uniqlo Europe online store,” said Taku Morikawa, CEO of Uniqlo Europe. “Through our pop-up store, we hope to gain a deeper understanding of the Polish market and use learnings to make long-term plans for the future.

“By working with brands such as Uniqlo, we wish to attract a new generation of customers that values a genuine relationship with brands and the ability to directly experience the products they offer,” Dwyer added.

The move comes after Uniqlo’s owner Fast Retailing announced it would open its first discount brand GU store in the US later this year.
