Berjaya Corp acquires more shares in 7-Eleven Malaysia

Inter-Pacific Securities, the subsidiary of Berjaya Corporation Berhad, has acquired an additional 16.80 million ordinary shares, equal to 1.51 per cent, in 7-Eleven Malaysia Holdings so far this year.

The acquisitions were carried out on March 15, June 27, and August 17 via direct business transactions for a total cash consideration of about RM30.77 million (US$6.6 million).

Berjaya Corp now has 159.35 million shares, accounting for about 14.37 per cent equity interest, in 7-Eleven Malaysia.

The acquisitions were funded from internal funds of Inter-Pacific Securities and have no effect on the issued share capital or substantial shareholders’ shareholdings of Berjaya Corp. They are not subject to the approval of the shareholders of Berjaya Corp or any regulatory authority.
