Gucci has opened its first Gucci Salon in Japan – in Tokyo’s Ginza shopping district – its second worldwide after the concept debuted in Melrose Place in West Hollywood, Los Angeles, in April.

The Gucci Salon, located on the third floor of the four-story Gucci Namiki flagship building, which opened in 2021, is restricted to private clients and offers a curated variety of unique Gucci items that have been chosen to demonstrate the brand’s workmanship and ‘savoir-faire’.

According to Gucci, each selection is designed to let the customers’ personality shine through, and handbags as well as shoes are made of high-quality leather, with crystal, diamonds or 18-karat gold glitter.

Gucci’s legendary Horsebit loafer, as well as one of its hallmark purses, the Gucci Horsebit 1955, are also available with an 18-karat yellow gold and pavé diamond Horsebit detail.

Gucci Salon is part of the luxury brand’s repositioning effort in the luxury market, after experiencing a drop in sales last year. Gucci also intends to expand the salon concept in the future to other cities including Paris, London, Milan, Dubai, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Taipei.
