Japanese fashion label Workman is set to roll out 360 additional Workman Girl branded stores in the next 10 years, aiming to make its international debut in Taiwan by 2027.

Workman’s expansion plan aligns with the anticipated rebound in tourism in Japan, as it aims to tap into the growing demand for its products from international customers. Meanwhile, Nikkei Asia reports that Workman aims to generate about 10 per cent of revenue outside its home market in 2030.

As part of the expansion plan, the company will open a Workman Girl-branded flagship store early next year at Aeon Mall Okinawa. The store, which will be home to a full range of women’s apparel, will span 730sqm, marking Workman’s largest location.

The company said the Workman Girl Okinawa store will create the “infrastructure” for its overseas expansion.

“It is undecided whether the overseas expansion will be a real store or a cross-border e-commerce platform, but in any case, sales promotion will be mainly done by social media ambassadors,” the company said.

As of July 31, Workman had about 995 locations in Japan under four concepts – Workman Girl, Workman Plus, Workman Pro, and Workman Plus 2.
