Jones the Grocer has launched its first cafe at Singapore’s Changi Airport – in Terminal 2 – in partnership with SSP Group.

The location is a duplex in the airport terminal’s public area, with more than 6600sqft across two levels near the Singapore Airlines check-in zone.

The ground level of Jones the Grocer, which is now open, features a quick-serve artisan food offering. Customers can choose from a variety of drinks including flat whites, teas, smoothies, and shakes. Pastries, savoury pies, gourmet sandwiches, cheese toasties, and a selection of Jones the Grocer’s grab-and-go products are all available at the deli-style food counter.

The floor above, which is expected to open later this year, will showcase chefs in a display kitchen cooking Jones the Grocer’s breakfast, lunch, and supper.

“Our customer insights show us that consumers are increasingly looking for healthier food choices when travelling,” said Jonathan Robinson, CEO of SSP Asia Pacific.

“We are confident that Jones the Grocer’s high-quality offer of packaged foods and beverages, alongside its flavourful, fresh offering of hand-made sauces and pastas will be very attractive to travellers as well as local Singaporeans passing through Changi Airport.”

Jones the Grocer first opened its doors in Sydney in 1996, and it now has more than 32 locations throughout the Middle East and Asia.

L Capital Asia, Louis Vuitton’s private equity arm, saved Jones the Grocer in 2015 when it was on the verge of bankruptcy due to a $15 million debt.

The brand previously had a store and cafe in the Dempsey Heights retail village but that closed sometime after the acquisition.
