Central Retail reveals lifestyle destination at new department store

Central Retail Corporation (CRC) has revealed its new shopping destination – the Robinson Lifestyle Chalong – at its latest Robinson Department Store Chalong in Phuket. 

Designed under the Carnival Village theme, and through the ‘Retailtainment’ concept, the space is filled with a joyful environment aiming to deliver a “unique” Eat-Shop-Play experience. 

Spanning over three stories with a total area of 43,000sqm, the Robinson Lifestyle Chalong boasts an experience beyond ‘Eat-Shop-Play’ by bringing more than 300 brands and specialty stores for consumers. 

“Robinson Department Store Chalong joined forces with the shopping centre to fulfil any shopping needs of shoppers of all ages and genders. Our department store also operates with a mission to be one with the community,” said Philippe Jean Broianigo, CEO of property business development, Robinson Lifestyle under Central Retail. 

“For instance, the store’s sustainability design integrated Phuket’s identity and context as a tin mining and metal industrial city, used vibrant colours for different departments, reduced the use of finishing, and utilized recycled wood, while supporting the local economy with the use of Phuket’s handicrafts as decoration.” 

With a THB1.3 billion (US$37.2 million) investment, Central Retail officially opened its doors to the Robinson Department Store Chalong in October. The launch followed the opening of the Robinson Lifestyle Thalang last year, marking its 28th location.
