Sephora Greater China has appointed Xia Ding as its new managing director to lead the brand’s growth in Mainland China and Hong Kong.

In her new role, Ding will report directly to Sephora Asia’s president Alia Gogi, overseeing the company’s business in the region, which includes a network of 348 stores and online channels, including Sephora official website, APP, Mini Program, TikTok Shop, TMall, JD, Meituan and JD to Home.

“Xia Ding is a quintessential leader with a wealth of experience in running businesses, digital transformations, and strategic business development,” said Gogi.

“I am confident that her skill set, knowledge of brick-and-mortar retail, expertise in digital and e-commerce, as well as her proven track record in building and sustaining profitable businesses will take Sephora Greater China into its next phase of growth and success.”

Based in Shanghai, Ding had previously held key roles in retail companies, including HanesBrands and JD. Before Sephora, she served at Nike Asia Pacific and Latin America for five years as VP and GM of e-commerce.

Sephora launched two ‘Stores of the Future’ in Shanghai and Wuhan last year.

The beauty retailer recently announced its plan to withdraw from South Korea next month after years of losses.
