Macau’s new M8 shopping centre is scheduled to open downtown in September, targeting the mid-to-high-end market.

The 80,000sqft mall features six shopping floors and its anchor tenant will be DFS, which will offer a curated selection of more than 120 local and international brands in watches, beauty products, food, and gifts.

Three international restaurants will make their city centre debut at M8 Macau: Thailand’s Mango Tree, Hong Kong’s Modern Shanghai Imperial, and South Korea’s Terrace in Seaside.

The mall was designed by the Oval Partnership, drawing inspiration from the city’s historical culture and integrating Chinese and Portuguese elements. The “M” symbolises Macau, while “8” represents its location within 8 per cent of its original land, surrounded by eight heritage sites within a hundred-metre radius.

This project marks the first urban regeneration initiative invested in, built, and operated by China State Construction Engineering (Macau), a subsidiary of China State Construction International Holdings.
