Hong Kong-based Tam Jai International (TJI) has launched its first TamJai Mixian restaurant in Malaysia, marking the brand’s growth in Southeast Asia’s F&B market.

The outlet, located in Sunway Pyramid Mall in Selangor, spans 136sqm and is part of the master franchise agreement signed with Hextar Retail Berhad, a subsidiary of Malaysian conglomerate Hextar Group.

Founded in Hong Kong, TamJai Mixian captures the essence of TJI’s flagship brands, TamJai Yunnan Mixian and TamJai SamGor Mixian, offering carted noodles with soup bases, varying spicy levels and a wide selection of toppings.

“Our debut in Malaysia represents a significant step forward in TJI’s strategic expansion across the rapidly growing Southeast Asian market,” said Daren Lau, chairman, executive director and CEO of TJI.

“We are confident that our proven brand concept will resonate well with local consumers, enabling us to capitalise on the strong growth potential of Malaysia’s vibrant and diverse culinary scene.”

In addition to Hong Kong, the group operates more than 240 locations in Singapore, Japan, Mainland China and Australia, with future expansion into the Philippines already in the pipeline.
