Luxury jewellery house Harry Winston has opened a flagship in Tokyo’s Ginza, its eighth salon in the country and its largest yet.
The three-level, 869sqm store adopts a more contemporary and architectural style than the typical Winston store.
“Japan holds a special place in the history of Harry Winston. Since opening our first salon in 1988, Japan has played an integral role in building the House’s renowned global legacy,” said Nayla Hayek, CEO of Harry Winston.”
Each interior detail and decorative furnishing echoes the House’s enduring legacy, he said. White polished marble outlines the perimeter of each floor, complemented by custom carpets, and the walls have a glossy finish, paired with textured wallpaper.
Every floor of the salon is set to reflect “the House’s heritage and dedication to craftsmanship”. The first floor is designed for bridal, the second floor presents timepieces and high jewellery creations, accompanied by its largest VIP salon in Japan. Below ground houses a merchandise repair concierge for aftercare service.
The exterior facade showcases the House’s seasonal campaigns, featuring a window display and lightboxes, and is clad in the same marble material as the interior. The entrance pays tribute to the brand’s historic Fifth Avenue flagship in New York City.
“Set in Ginza – the epicentre of luxury, where forward-thinking design meets enduring tradition – the opening of our new flagship represents an exciting new chapter – one that honours the House’s longstanding relationship in Tokyo, while also offering a bold vision for the future,” Hayek added.
Harry Winston unveiled a new retail salon in Hangzhou last year, also marking its eighth location in Mainland China.
