Dior is set to open a botanical-themed experiential pavilion in Tokyo, following similar concepts previously launched in Bangkok and Seoul.
The store’s exterior draws inspiration from the brand’s flagship in Paris with elements reinterpreted through a golden, bamboo-inspired facade.
A 19,000sqft indoor green space conceived by floral artist Azuma Makoto forms the core of the project, featuring a Zen garden designed by landscape architect Seijun Nishihata, a terrace, and a pond featuring koi carp made from luminous glass.
Interior finishes include Versailles parquet flooring, washi paper-clad walls and ceilings, and lanterns inspired by the Lady Dior bag.
Inside, the pavilion will showcase the label’s women’s and men’s collections designed by creative director Jonathan Anderson, spanning ready-to-wear, leather goods, shoes, accessories and jewellery.
Moreover, there will be a dedicated space where customers can have their Lady Dior and Book Tote bags customised.
Beyond retail, the pavilion will also house Café Dior, offering an exclusive menu developed by Michelin-starred chef Anne-Sophie Pic.
The boutique will also feature artworks by contemporary designers and studios, including Takt Project, Sho Ota, Ayumi Shibata, We+, Hana Mitsui and Chikaken.
