Restaurant chains Bonchon and Little Caesars have entered Malaysia as international foodservice brands continue to expand across Southeast Asia.
US pizza chain Little Caesars opened its first Malaysian restaurant in Damansara Utama, Petaling Jaya, marking its market debut. The company said the opening is the first step in a broader expansion strategy, with additional locations planned across the country.
The Malaysian stores will offer the brand’s signature products alongside menu items tailored to local tastes, including Chicken Hawaiian and Three Cheese Edge to Edge pizzas.
Meanwhile, Korean fried chicken chain Bonchon has also launched in Malaysia, adding the country to its growing international network as it approaches 500 locations globally.
The Kuala Lumpur opening extends Bonchon’s presence to nine countries and comes amid continued demand for Korean cuisine and culture across international markets. The company said recent growth has been supported by menu innovation, technology investments and a refreshed restaurant format.
“These wins reflect the strength of our menu and brand, the dedication of our franchise partners and the growing appetite for Korean cuisine,” said Suzie Tsai, CEO of Bonchon.
“Malaysia is an exciting next step for us as we continue bringing Bonchon to new communities while supporting our partners’ long-term success.”
Bonchon has reported an 18 per cent increase in digital sales and continues to expand in the US, with new locations planned across Southern California, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Nashville and Atlanta. The chain is also preparing to enter Puerto Rico and open outlets in two US airports next year.
