French luxury leather goods brand Polene has opened its first boutique in Singapore at Marina Bay Sands.

Spanning 84sqm and designed by Marina Bay Sands architect Moshe Safdie, the space draws inspiration from traditional fishing huts, with suspended leather panels forming a canopy that filters light throughout the store.

According to Polene, each panel is handwoven from full-grain Italian leather, with walnut finishes and clean architectural lines to create a warm and tactile retail environment.

The boutique also features Craft at Work – A Puzzle of Leather, an installation that gives customers a closer look at how the brand’s products are made.

Using a machine developed exclusively for the Singapore store, visitors can watch the 36 individual leather pieces that make up the Mokki bag being precisely cut before they are assembled by artisans in Ubrique, Spain.

The Singapore opening follows the brand’s recent expansion across China, the US, Japan, and South Korea.
