China-based outdoor brand Kailas has opened its first European store in Chamonix, France, bringing its popular trail-running product line Kailas Fuga to the region.

The location marks Kailas’s first directly operated international store and a new stage in its global expansion – moving from investment in products, events, athletes and international channels toward more localised operations. 

Founded in 2003, Kailas sells products for multiple mountain sports, from mountaineering, rock climbing and ice climbing to trail running. The company has already established a strong international presence, with more than 300 sales outlets and collaboration with 107 elite athletes worldwide.

According to the company, Chamonix is a major destination for outdoor and trail-running activities, and opening a store here reflects its professional positioning and long-term international strategy. 

The store will serve not only as a traditional retail space, but also as a basecamp connecting athletes, runners and the local outdoor community. The new Fuga Ex Pro G will make its debut at the store. 

To mark the opening, the brand will host product experiences, athlete exchanges and trail-running activities, with more than 80 athletes from the Fuga Team and Fuga Mountain Club.
