Chinese coffee chain Luckin Coffee has opened its 100th store in Singapore, marking a key milestone in its international expansion as the company continues to build its presence outside China.
Luckin entered Singapore in 2023 and said it has since attracted more than 1.9 million cumulative transacting customers. The company now describes itself as the country’s second-largest coffee chain by store count.
The new Bugis outlet is located in one of Singapore’s major transport and commercial hubs. Luckin said its Singapore network spans commercial districts, residential areas, transport hubs, hospitals and universities.
“In 2023, it became our very first home outside China, guided by our vision to build a world-class coffee brand, woven into everyone’s daily life,” said David Li, chairman of Luckin Coffee.
“Three years on, that bold step has paid off. Today, Luckin is proud to stand as Singapore’s second-largest coffee chain by store count. Our growth is driven by deep localisation, adapting our digital capabilities, continuous product innovation, and global supply chain to Singapore’s unique market. Singapore also proves that our model travels well.”
The milestone comes shortly after Abu Dhabi sovereign investor Mubadala agreed to make a significant minority investment in Luckin, valued at approximately US$1 billion. The investment, made alongside existing shareholder Centurium Capital, adds institutional backing as Luckin accelerates its overseas growth.
Luckin currently operates more than 38,000 stores across China, Singapore, Malaysia and the US.
