Yum China is stepping up Lavazza’s expansion in Hong Kong, opening its fifth store in the market and planning to double its local footprint to around 10 outlets in the coming months.
Located at Cheung Kong Center II, the new store features an installation inspired by Lavazza’s Carmencita moka pot, highlighting the Italian coffee brand’s heritage.
According to the company, all five Hong Kong outlets are situated primarily in premium office towers and shopping destinations across Central and Causeway Bay. The stores feature Italian-inspired interiors and aim to deliver a high-quality coffee experience to local consumers.
“Hong Kong is a mature and dynamic coffee market where consumers place a high value on quality, flavour, and brand experience, all of which are central to Lavazza’s identity as an iconic Italian coffee brand founded in Turin in 1895,” said Allegra Armitano, chief marketing officer of the Lavazza-Yum China joint venture.
Alongside the new store opening, Lavazza is introducing its signature Buffalo Milk Latte across all five Hong Kong locations. The beverage is one of the brand’s best-selling drinks in Mainland China, with sales exceeding 1.2 million cups last year.
Lavazza opened its first Hong Kong store last November as part of its broader regional expansion strategy with Yum China.
