Alipay explores joint opportunities with Singapore Tourism Board

Chinese online payment platform Alipay is exploring a series of joint marketing initiatives with the Singapore Tourism Board aimed at driving tourist spending among Chinese visitors.

The initiatives, intended to encourage Chinese tourists to spend with Alipay while in Singapore, are designed to offer rewards and discounts to use across different types of tourism businesses such as retail, F&B and attractions, further boosting visitor spending. Tailored itineraries for Alipay users are also part of the scheme.

The partnership will serve to deepen Singapore’s understanding of Chinese visitors’ consumer behavior and spending patterns, leveraging Alipay’s insights.

Singapore Tourism Board director of marketing partnerships & planning Jacqueline Ng said: “We hope to continue to broaden over time our partnership with Alipay to explore more innovative marketing initiatives in the areas of content, digital and technology to further enhance the Chinese visitor experience.”

Singapore is one of Chinese tourists’ top 10 preferred travel destinations worldwide.
