Disney opens concept store in Japan

Disney has opened its world’s first concept store targeted at adult customers.

The store, located in Takayashima Station Mall in Kashiwa City in Chiba, Japan, is targeted at adult females. It sells products such as leather bags, cosmetics and smartphone accessories.

To appeal more to mature tastes, the store features creamy white color scheme as motif instead of the usual blue and red color. Though aimed at adults, it still stocks some products for children, such as teddy bears and the popular line UniBEARsity.

“The goal of the store is to create a fun shopping environment that can’t be found anywhere else but at Disney stores,” says a report.

Disney plans to open more such stores once the model is refined and becomes profitable.

The Japanese, especially women, are known for their love of character themed goods.
