Solerebels opens in Taiwan

Ethiopian footwear brand Solerebels has cracked the Taiwanese footwear market with its first store opened in Kaohsiung.

The store is the first of the 30 stores planned for the island nation, the company says.

Solerebels founder and CEO Bethlehem Tilahun Alemu said Taiwan gives the company a platform to showcase its products.

“This is the perfect place for Solerebels to anchor our Asia wide roll-out of SoleRebels stores,” said Alemu.

More than 500 footwear products, such as sandals, slip-ons and lace-ups, are offered at the store, which features a lounge area where customers can learn more about the heritage of the brand and the production techniques.

Established in 2005, Solerebels makes many of its shoes from recycled and organic materials.
