Google planning US stores

Google is expected to follow the likes of Microsoft and Apple opening its first bricks and mortar store later this year, according to a report by tech news site, 9to5Mac.

“An extremely reliable source has confirmed to us that Google is in the process of building stand-alone retail stores in the U.S. and hopes to have the first flagship Google Stores open for the holidays in major metropolitan areas,” the website stated.

The store is expected to stock the new Google Nexus, Chrome, and other Google branded products including its proposed Google Glass, eyewear that has the same capabilities as a smartphone.

Google currently has Chrome store in store concepts at electronics chain, Best Buys, across the US and has 50 concession stores at PCWorld/Dixon’s in the U.K.
