Theodore Alexander expanding to China

Furniture retailer Theodore Alexander has cracked the Chinese market with five store openings this year.

Theodore Alexander plans to open another 12 stores in China this year, after initial openings in Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou.

Each store ranges from 3000 to 9000 sqft and is staffed with design experts.

“Our exceptional growth in the Chinese market has been the catalyst for our expanded retail presence,” said CEO Harvey Dondero in a statement.

“As we are one of the largest furniture manufacturers in Southeast Asia, it makes sense to continue our eastern expansion.”

Founded in 1996 by Paul Maitland Smith, Theodore Alexander offers more than 4000 designs of fine furniture, lighting and accessories.
