Tiffany to open new Tokyo store

Jeweller Tiffany & Co is adding another Japan store – its first in five years.

The new jewellery store will be in Tokyo’s Shinjuku shopping district, adding to its 55 store Japanese network.

The three-level store will feature a fashion salon for fashion jewellery, fine salon for diamonds and bridal salon.

Tiffany & Co said Japan sales surged 20 per cent to $174 million during the first quarter ended April 30, stemming from exceptionally strong customer demand in March.

This year, it is planning to open two new stores in Japan as part of a global expansion plan to open 13 company-operated stores.
