Nuance India unveils new duty-free concept

Travellers flying out of Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, India will be treated to a walk of nostalgia and rich South Indian tradition in Nuance’s new Duty Free Store at the departure lounge.

Nuance India has opened a 900 sqm shopping experience which it says – apart from offering the best international merchandise and the best prices – will showcase Bengaluru’s opulent heritage and culture.

“We believe travel is all about new experiences and airports are a touch-point for the travellers to interact with the region,” said G V Sanjay Reddy, MD of Bengaluru International Airport.

“Our attempt is to make sure that every commercial space at the airport provides a sense of place and embodies the local culture, heritage and aesthetics. The Nuance team has done justice to our vision and developed the new Duty Free experience to fulfil a memorable shopping experience to our passengers.”

Anirban Dutta Chowdhury, country head of Nuance India, said the new shopping experience “represents the city and showcases an eclectic blend of traditional values coupled with world class design.”

That design includes original Chettinnad pillars from Kalaikudi, kolam-inspired patterns and jhumka-influenced lighting.

“Our aim was to make a store based on our global Duty Free Store concept, that could be anywhere in the world, but is proud to be at KIAB and we feel we have been able to deliver that to the discerning Bengaluru traveller.

“The new store will offer an international boutique-style ambience, with a blend of technology along with an intimate and welcoming atmosphere, which will elevate the shopping experience of the travellers to the next level.”

The store stocks perfumes, cosmetics, liquors, confectionaries, electronics and more and will later introduce fashion and accessories.

“The objective is not only to provide a unique and exclusive shopping experience but also to offer unmatched deals. Bengaluru Duty Free has launched a Simply Cheaper Pricing Strategy, with assured savings compared to other regional international airports,” Chowdhury said.

The entire product range is also available online. Passengers can simply book at the company’s website and collect their purchases from the airport store.
