Symphony EYC strengthens Asian arm

Symphony EYC, which provides software and services for more than 1000 retailers, manufacturers and wholesalers globally, has made two key Asian executive appointments.

Oscar Garcia-Velasco becomes VP Asia Pacific and Japan and Henry Chen GM of Greater China.

“With Garcia-Velasco and Chen in place, Symphony EYC is well positioned to meet demand for the G.O.L.D. Unified Retail Platform in the rapidly growing Asia-Pacific markets,” the company said in a statement.

Garcia-Velasco will be responsible for developing the Symphony EYC G.O.L.D. customer base, joining the company from NET (net), where he was responsible for developing and expanding NET (net)’s services and market leadership in Asia, the Middle East and Latin America. With more than 25 years of IT industry experience, Garcia-Velasco has held executive leadership positions with large IT organizations, such as IBM, SSA and Torex throughout Europe, Latin America, Asia Pacific and Japan.

Reporting to Garcia-Velasco, Chen will manage all Symphony EYC G.O.L.D. business in Greater China, comprising Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. Chen has more than 15 years’ experience working with leading vendors, such as SSA Global, Infor and Torex, in bringing retail, manufacturing and distribution solutions to the Chinese market.
