Angels bankroll Gaya Flores

It’s only two months old, but florist app Gaya Flores has now won $4 million in seed funding from angel investors.
Officially launch in March, Gaya Flores is Hong Kong’s first flowers and gifts ordering, transaction-based mobile app, which fully demonstrates the potential of O2O (online to offline) business model.
The app runs 24/seven offering an ordering and free delivery experience, coupled with state of the art tracking system and back end payment gateway which allows a user to place an order in less than three minutes. Users can then track the delivery process step-by-step until the flowers or gifts are received.
Having posted a profit in just its first month of operation, the app developer Sino Dynamic Solutions, has successfully lured HK$4 million in investment in less than three months, which it says sets a record for mobile apps in Hong Kong.
”The world is fast-changing and users are switching from task to task at speed of thoughts,” said Janice Yang, the founder.
“Gaya Flores is overwhelmingly successful as it understands and fulfils such specific need to be upbeat and on-the-go all the time.
“The expandability of this O2O model to cover celebrations in all forms guarantees the profit-making concept behind the operations and thus successfully translates the business concept into tangible projections that have impressed investors.
“The swift transaction-based experience and tracking capability have earned us great popularity just within two months of operation,” she said.
“A high level of personalised customer support, always evolving gifting options and our special reminders function are also attractive features to end-users and also angel investors.”
