Domino’s Pizza China books lower net loss amid higher same-store sales

Domino’s Pizza China saw net loss improve to RMB26.6 million (US$3.7 million) last year amid same-store sales growth of 8.9 per cent.

This marks the company’s positive same-store sales for the 27th consecutive quarter since the third quarter of 2017. Annual revenue surged 51 per cent to RMB3.05 billion (US$421.2 million) with stronger performance in Beijing and Shanghai and new growth markets.

The pizza restaurant chain said its loyalty program members increased 69.8 per cent to 14.6 million and its member customers contributed 59.2 per cent to its total revenue.

During the year, the company added 180 net new stores.

For the current year, the company expects about 240 net new stores as it targets to reach the 1000th store milestone by the end of the fourth quarter.

Domino’s Pizza China also seeks to open 300 to 350 stores next year and in 2026.
