AsiaMalls rolls out digital initiative

AsiaMalls has launched a series of digital initiatives aimed at engaging with its customers in Singapore.

These are based on a rewards program, Amperkz, it hopes will bring together both tenants and shoppers in an online platform. Its release has been timed to capitalise on the busy Chinese New Year retail period.

Another element is a rewards vending machine, which gives shoppers the chance to win prizes with a minimum spend at the company’s malls.

Amperkz rolled out late last month in all malls managed by AsiaMalls Management including Century Square, Hougang Mall, Liang Court, Tampines 1, Tiong Bahru Plaza and White Sands, and is being enhanced by festive promotions to incentivise members. The rewards program is available not only through a mobile app and website, but also at counters in each mall.

During the Chinese New Year campaign, which is active until February 6, Amperkz members receive double rewards by using a digital vending machine, the Amperkz Surprise Booth, at the Hougang Mall, Tampines 1 and Century Square. Members This gives members a chance to redeem gifts such as GrabTaxi vouchers, grocery vouchers and a grand prize of a three-day/two-night holiday with $250 spending money. A CNY redemption counter will also be set up for Amperkz members to redeem exclusive AsiaMalls red packets.

“We recognise the need to combine the traditional mall with advancements in technology, and this campaign is AsiaMalls’ way of adopting technology to enrich the shopping experience,” says newly appointed MD Tan Kee Yong.

“The grocery and transport vouchers in the Amperkz Surprise Booth are based on the understanding of what is most important to our shoppers during this festive period.

“Moving ahead, as we better understand our shoppers’ purchase preferences through Amperkz, we will work with our retailers towards developing tailored measures and services for individual shoppers.”

Membership applications can be done through the Amperkz smartphone app or AsiaMalls website, and to redeem points members can upload a photo of their shopping receipt. Accumulated points can be used to redeem AsiaMalls gift vouchers, which can be used in retail outlets across AsiaMalls Management properties. There is also the chance to reach Gold Tier status by spending $8000 within 12 months. This doubles the amount of points for every dollar spent.
