Out-of-the-box POS solution launched

Achiever, which already has more than 3000 corporate customers across Greater China, has partnered with Intel, Elo and Ricoh to develop a system which can be ordered, set up and implemented with minimal technical expertise.
Retailers ranging in size from single-store pop-ups or online stores to chains with several hundred locations can use the system which is both portable and cloud-based. The literal box can be ordered online and delivered to the store. It contains a 10-inch personal display from Elo, a Star cash drawer and receipt printer, an Intel NUC composite stick and a scanner.
The cloud-based software can gather customer data, sales information and other store metrics.
“You order the box, you plug it into the power supply and connect the bits and you’re ready for business,” explained Warren Chow, Achiever’s CTO at a launch in Tsim Sha Tsui on Monday.
An optional add-on is a surveillance security system which stores recorded information and allows real-time remote monitoring. That software is capable of replaying footage of a transaction simply by scanning a receipt – helpful in the event of a disagreement between customer and cashier.
