Bonjour Holdings heading for loss

Hong Kong-based cosmetics and beauty retailer Bonjour Holdings is expecting a net loss for the year ended December 31 following a HK$432,228,000 (US$55,728,318) profit for the preceding 12 months.

This follows its review of its unaudited management accounts for the 10 months to the end of October.

Bonjour Holdings says there are two major reasons for the fall…

Firstly, in the corresponding period for 2015 there was a one-off non-operating profit from
discontinued operations, amounting to about HK$398,968,000; and secondly, the group’s turnover has declined because of the prolonged sluggish retail environment and slow consumer sentiment among tourists from Mainland China.
