NTUC FairPrice extends discount scheme

NTUC FairPrice has extended its Pioneer Generation (PG) discount scheme to include Thursdays as well as Mondays.

This means members now receive a 3 per cent discount two days a week when shopping at FairPrice supermarkets, FairPrice Finest outlets and FairPrice Xtra hypermarkets.

As well, the discount scheme will be extended until the end of this year, the third time the initiative has been renewed. Nearly $6.4 million in savings have been disbursed since its launch in October 2014.

NTUC FairPrice CEO Seah Kian Peng says the company continues to honour the pioneers for their contributions to Singapore.

Already, the pioneers receive a 2 per cent discount on Tuesdays under the Seniors Discount Scheme, which applies to all shoppers 60 years and older. Both discount schemes are on top of existing initiatives such as LinkPoints, membership rebates, purchase-with-purchase, Housebrand, Every Day Low Price (EDLP) and Yellow Dot products.
PG members also have designated priority-payment counters at FairPrice supermarkets and hypermarkets.

NTUC Fairprice Co-operative was founded by the labour movement in 1973 with a social mission to moderate the cost of living in Singapore. From one supermarket it become Singapore’s largest retailer, serving more than half a million shoppers daily with a network of more than 130 outlets.
