German fashion designer Philipp Plein has opened a Hong Kong store dedicated to children.
On the ground floor of Harbour City shopping mall, it covers 37 sqm.
Plein was studying law when he began designing furniture, and in 1998 formed his own design company in Munich.
He then started making bags and accessories from exotic leather cut-offs from his furniture, which were sold alongside his design pieces at trade fairs.
In 2003 he was asked to design a lounge for Moet & Chandon, and a year later his initial namesake casual fashion brand was launched in Switzerland. The Philipp Plein luxury ready-to-wear label followed in 2008, and the brand now has more than 100 stores around the world.
